Teerartige Masse entfernt, ging ganz gut mit Isopropanol. Alle Antriebsriemen ersetzt, (3 Stück) Das Gerät mit regelbarem Trenntransformator behutsam und fraktioniert angeheizt. Keine Explosionen, keine heißen Elkos. Alle Röhren glühen (sieht aus wie beim Grillen), aber nur ein Lüfter läuft, ok kalte Lötstelle, geht jetzt. Alle Antriebsmotoren laufen (5 Stück).
Capstan (Spindel) dreht sich nur bei schnellem Vor- und Rücklauf. Sollte sich der Capstan nicht auch bei Aufnahme und Wiedergabe drehen?
Ich warte immer noch auf mein user manual, ich bin mir mit der Bedienung nicht 100% im Klaren. Ich habe mich noch nicht getraut das Gerät mit einem Band laufen zu lassen.

wieder ein kurzer Bericht über den Fortschritt der Restaurierung:
Nachdem ich den Versorgungsstrom für den Motor des Bandantriebs auf 6,2 A eingestellt hatte, läuft jetzt auch der Capstan bei Wiedergabe und Aufnahme.
Löschkopf, Tonkopf, Videokopf, Capstan und Umlenkbolzen mit Isopropanol gereinigt. Umlenkrollen mit Geschirrspülmittel gereinigt.
Nagelneues Band eingelegt und auf Start und Wiedergabe gedrückt. Der VTR hat die ersten Meter des Bandes regelrecht „gefressen“, Band zerknittert mit Schleifspuren. Nach aufwendiger Justage des gesamten Bandlaufs, Umlenkbolzen, Magnetköpfe und, einiger dieser sonderbaren Halterungen auf der Kopf- trommel (siehe früheres Bild von Kopftrommel) ist der Bandlauf nun einwand- frei.
Mikrofon und Kamera angeschlossen, dann Start gedrückt, man muss nun 15 bis 20 Sekunden warten, bis das System auf vollen Touren läuft, dann Aufnahme. Resultat: Ton einwandfrei, gute Qualität aber vom Bild keine Spur!
You don't have the option EL1952A? This is for recording from the TV. I don't have it also, but I think it's very easy to make... It has to be put on the last video-IF tube. (See schematic on the dutch forum)

best greetings to the Netherlands. I`am not a specialist of the Philips EL 3400,
but I´like your photographs and also the little cinemascope on yxxtxxxx. I think, it is a good idea, to make a short film, if you want to describe something more. Handling, repairing a.s.else.

an amazing flashback to the roots of VTR-technology. I greatfully appreciate the video clip. And I wish you and this nice "little" machine good luck and many more hours of trouble-free operation.
About sync-stability: As far as I remember, PHILIPS issued mod.-instructions for the K8-CTV Chassis in the '70ies. Only the value of a capacitor and/or resistor in the circuitry of the H-sync PLL time constant needs to be changed. The result is a shorter reaction time of the PLL. Probably you can adopt the mod.-instructions of the K8 to the K6.
The K6... wonderful multi-purpose CTV. Lighting (sometimes also lightning), heating, and entertainment combined in just only one convinient, "light-weight" unit. Unique and never copied... Give me twenty-seven (tubes) - yah!
great, that You too, have such a wonderful machine. My EL 3400 is only working for the audio part, I found out that the video head has an interrupted coil. Now I try to restore it, but that will be pretty difficult. You did that already, right? Could You tell me how to wind the coils, I mean in what order? (i.e. starting on the left coil, winding clockwise, 12 times, then going to the right coil... top part? bottom part? what direction...clockwise...counterclockwise?) I really would appreciate it, if You could help me.

There are documents which describes the VCR modifications for the K6, K7, K8 and K9. This K6 has not jet been modified.

My videohead was also broken indeed.
Never let the video play on his side. You will absolutely damage your videohead.
The wire is 0.05mm, I used wire from an relays coil. The drawing on the Dutch forum is seen from the readingside from the head winding to the connectionside. The crossing wire from left to right is at the readingside of the head. Then wind towards the connectionside. I hope you understand my explanation?
My recorder has still an weird problem at the modulator. The sound is working at the selected channel 2, 3 of 4 but the picture is black. The picture you see on the TV is coming from an external modulator at the V output. The V output is just video composite.
It can not be much trouble because the circuit is very simple.
